Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and our affiliates (\u201cSamsung\u201d or \u201cWe\") respect your concerns about privacy. This Privacy Notice applies to the personal data we collect and use to display Interest-Based Advertisements within the Smart Hub on your device which utilises Samsung\u2019s Tizen operating system, such as the Samsung Smart TV and Samsung Smart Monitor (\u201cDevice\u201d), and third-party applications, platforms and devices to which Samsung serves advertising.
In this Privacy Notice, we describe the types of personal data used for Interest-Based Advertisements, how we use that data, and the choices available to you regarding our use of the information and exercising your rights. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd is the data controller for the processing of personal data to display Interest-Based Advertisements as described in this Privacy Notice.
Interest-Based Advertisements is an optional feature forming part of the Samsung Smart Hub and this Privacy Notice should be read in conjunction with the Samsung Smart Hub Privacy Notice. This Privacy Notice shall always prevail over the Samsung Smart Hub Privacy Notice in relation to how we use your information for Interest-Based Advertisements. WHAT ARE INTEREST-BASED ADVERTISEMENTS?
Interest-Based Advertisements are designed to provide users with useful, interactive, relevant, and more interesting advertisements about products and services offered by Samsung and third parties within the Smart Hub and across various Samsung and third-party applications, platforms and devices, including linear commercials, on the web, mobile devices, and tablets. To provide you with Interest-Based Advertisements we utilise the personal data that Samsung has collected to model or infer your interests and your household characteristics. If you do not opt in to Interest-Based Advertisements you will not reduce the number of ads you see, but the ads you see may not be relevant to you.
Please note that some third party Content Providers within Samsung TV Plus deliver their own advertising on their channels. These third parties are data controllers and are responsible for their own data practices.
In addition, some third parties may display personalised advertisements in their applications or on their own channels on your Device. These third parties are data controllers and responsible for their own data practices. If you want to know how these third parties process your personal data, please review the privacy policies for their service.
WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT?
To provide you with Interest-Based Advertisements, Samsung obtains your personal data in a variety of ways:
Information Collected From Your Device:
\u2022\tDevice Information: device attributes, configurations and settings, device identifiers (such as the Personalised Services ID or \u201cPSID\u201d and Tizen ID For Advertising or \u201cTIFA\u201d), IP address, and information that identifies your hardware or software or their configuration;
\u2022\tDevice Usage and Log Information: diagnostic, technical, error, and usage information, including the dates, time and duration of your use of your Device, applications and hardware connected to your device such as set-top boxes or games consoles;
\u2022\tDevice Viewing History: with your separate consent to Viewing Information Services, information relating to content or ads viewed, purchased, downloaded, or streamed on your Device including through broadcast TV, applications, or hardware connected to your Device such as set-top boxes or games consoles; and
\u2022\tAd Delivery Information: information relating to user consent preferences and ad viewed, such as campaign IDs, ad type, placement and the date, time and location of the ad viewed.
Information from Samsung Account & other Samsung devices:
\u2022\tSamsung Account Information: with your separate consent and where you have logged into your Samsung account on your Device, information associated with your Samsung Account and/or collected through the Customisation Service, such as your Samsung account ID, email address, and age and information relating to other devices and applications signed into with that account.
Information From Third Parties:
\u2022\tWe may obtain and process personal data for Interest-Based Advertisements from third parties such as Advertisers, Content Providers and Technical Delivery Partners as well as commercially available sources such as our third-party data brokers. This data can also be collected through cookies or similar technologies on your devices with your appropriate consent. The information obtained from third parties includes:
o\tIP address, device identifiers and device characteristics;
o\tlocation data;
o\tinformation about specific audience interests, online behaviours and demographics; and
o\tinformation about websites or applications you visit and the and the types of content they provide.
We require these third parties to ensure that this information has been obtained in accordance with applicable law and can be provided to us for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
Samsung processes personal data for Interest-Based Advertisements on the basis of your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) which you may provide by selecting the tick box associated with this Privacy Notice. You may subsequently withdraw your consent at any time by accessing the Privacy Choices App or in the Settings on the Device without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
We use the information described above to:
\u2022\tcreate profiles for Interest-Based Advertisements, including the use of look-a-like modelling and through machine learning processes;
\u2022\tdisplay (and allow Technical Delivery Partners and Content Providers to display) Interest-Based Advertisements on your Device and other internet-connected devices associated with your household;
\u2022\tmeasure (and allow Technical Delivery Partners and Channel Providers to measure) Interest-Based Advertisements, such as tracking the brand suitability of the digital property, the success of delivery, number of times an ad is shown and whether you interacted with the ad or visited the advertiser\u2019s website or store or made a purchase connected with the ad, this may be performed with cookies or similar technologies as described below;
\u2022\tdevelop insights, analytics and market research relating to Interest-Based Advertisements;
\u2022\toperate, evaluate, and improve Interest-Based Advertisements (including detecting and fixing bugs and errors, aggregating and anonymising data, creating models and algorithms through machine learning, forecasting, and performing accounting, auditing and other internal functions);
\u2022\tlink your information with information we collect from third party data sources in order to provide you with Interest-Based Advertisements about products and services tailored to your individual interests;
\u2022\twith your separate consent, link your Viewing Information Services information for the above purposes; and
\u2022\twith your separate consent, link your Samsung Account information for the above purposes. If you have also consented to using precise location data for improved personal advertising, the advertising you see will be relevant according to your precise location.
WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH?
We will disclose your information internally within our business and to the following entities, but only for the processing purposes described above:
\u2022\tAffiliates: other Samsung Electronics Group companies that we control and/or own for the purposes of providing Interest-Based Advertisements to you;
\u2022\tAdvertisers and their agencies: we may share data with advertisers and their agencies to provide you Interest-Based Advertisements at the request of the advertiser. These partners are committed to protecting your information and may, in some instances, control and manage your personal data;
\u2022\tContent Providers: partners who deliver their own advertising within their own channels on Samsung TV Plus. These third parties are responsible for their own data practices with respect to the delivery of the ads;
\u2022\tService Providers: carefully selected companies that provide services for or on behalf of us, who assist in providing Interest-Based Advertisements. These providers are committed to protecting your information; and
\u2022\tTechnical Delivery Partners: third parties that we work with to provide Interest-Based Advertisements, including ad platforms, ad exchanges, ad servers, content and ad integration services, verification, fraud detection and measurement providers, data management platforms, marketplaces, geo-location data providers and other advertising partners. These providers are committed to protecting your information and may in some instances control and manage your personal data.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SECURE?
We take data protection seriously. We\u2019ve put in place physical and technical safeguards to keep the information we collect secure. However, please note that although we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no website, internet transmission, computer system, or wireless connection is completely secure.
WHERE DO WE SEND YOUR DATA?
Your use of the Smart Hub service will involve the transfer of your personal data to other countries, including countries in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea, the United States of America, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Austrailia, Brazil and India. All international data transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal data is processed safely and as you would expect. Such measures include the use of Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard the transfer of data outside of the EEA and the UK. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?
You can ask us to provide details about what we\u2019ve collected, and you can ask us to delete it or correct any inaccuracies. You can also ask us to restrict or limit processing, sharing, or transfer of your personal data, as well as to provide to you your personal data that we\u2019ve collected so you can use it for your own purposes. We won\u2019t delete data that we\u2019re required by law to retain.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR PREFERENCES
We offer you certain choices in connection with your personal data collected and used by us and/or third parties for purposes of Interest-Based Advertisements.
You may reset your PSID at any time by selecting \u201cReset PSID\u201d via the settings menu on the Device and once reset, your Device viewing history and Device usage information will not be linked to the previous PSID. By resetting your PSID your TIFA will also be reset. Some Smart Hub services provided by Samsung, such as Samsung TV Plus, also allow you to delete viewing history in the settings menu for that specific service.
In addition, you may disable Interest-Based Advertisements and withdraw your consent at any time by accessing the Privacy Choices app or the Settings menu on the Device and deselecting \u2018I consent to Interest-Based Advertisements\u2019.
If you withdraw your consent to Interest-Based Advertisements, Samsung will no longer process your personal data for the provision of Interest-Based Advertisements. This will not reduce or prevent the delivery of generic or contextual advertisements from us, and the advertisements you see may not be relevant to you or your interests. Those other types of advertisements will be based on other information such as generalised location and other estimated or inferred information (e.g. estimated TV size based on Model ID).
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We will not keep your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. This means that information will be destroyed or erased from our systems, or kept in a form which can no longer be linked to you, when it is no longer required.
How long your data will be retained depends on the legal basis relied upon to process your data.
Please note, although we aim to retain your data for as short a time as possible, your data may be processed longer pursuant to applicable law. For example, if a specific statute mandates we require a certain piece of data, we will comply and retain that data until the required retention period expires.
COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
With your consent to Interest-Based Advertisements, we, along with certain Technical Delivery Partners and advertisers may use technologies that are embedded in advertisements, such as cookies, beacons, pixels, and other tools (collectively known as \u201cTechnologies\u201d). These Technologies allow certain Technical Delivery Partners to:
\u2022\tobtain Device information, such as TIFA and IP address;
\u2022\tknow when you have viewed a particular advertisement;
\u2022\tdetermine the time and date on which you viewed an advertisement;
\u2022\tmeasure how many times you viewed or clicked on an advertisement;
\u2022\tlimit the number of times you see an advertisement;
\u2022\tunderstand how much of an advertisement you saw, such as whether you viewed the whole advertisement from beginning to end;
\u2022\tensure the advertisement shown to you was next to content that is not harmful to the advertiser's reputation;
\u2022\tunderstand the potential carbon emission exposure related to the advertisement shown to you;
\u2022\tlink your Device information from the advertisement to other activities within the Device or on other internet-connected devices within your household, such as understanding whether you installed an app or made a purchase in response to an advertisement you viewed; and
\u2022\tlink your Device information to other information already held by the Technical Delivery Partner to assess whether an advertisement was served to the advertiser's intended target audience.
If you withdraw your consent to Interest-Based Advertisements, we will communicate your preference not to be tracked to third party Technical Delivery Partners, and they are expected to abide by your choice.
Some Interest-Based Advertisements provided by Technical Delivery Partners also use other kinds of local storage technologies to provide advertisements. These technologies are similar to the cookies and similar technologies discussed above. They are stored on your Device and can be used to store certain information about your activities and preferences, such as your privacy choices you make when interacting with our Consent Management Platform on Samsung TV Plus.
